1.1 This International Standard establishes the vocabulary for the various terms in use relative to any window, regardless of shape, suitable for installation aboard ships and marine structures. It defines, in English and French, terms used in connection with this subject.

NOTE – In additions to terms and definitions given in two of the three official ISO languages (English and French), this International Standard gives the equivalent terms in the languages mentioned in 1.2; these are published under the responsibility of the relevant member bodies for the respective languages. However, only the terms and definitions given in the official languages can be considered as ISO terms and definitions.

1.2 The multilingual vocabulary given in annex A is arranged in consecutive order of the reference numbers, the English and French terms also being repeated.
