BS 9733:1985

This standard BS 9733:1985 Sectional specification for pulse transformers of assessed quality for use in electronic equipment for capability approval is classified in these ICS categories:
  • 29.180 Transformers. Reactors

This British Standard specifies inspection requirements and tests from which a selection is made when preparing a detail specification for pulse transformers to be released under the terms of BS 9720 capability approval. It includes a blank detail specification (BDS), which shows the format, and indicates which tests are considered to be appropriate to this type of component, although the final selection of tests to be included in the inspection schedule is at the discretion of the specification writer. It also lists appropriate ratings and characteristics.

The components covered by this standard are essentially concerned with uni-directional pulses and the transfer of the energy and signals of these pulses from one section of a circuit to another. Whilst no specific dividing line is practicable, low power pulse transformers are regarded as transferring information and high power pulse transformers are regarded as transferring power.

Preparation of detail specifications under the terms of BS 9720 capability approval. Shows required format and lists appropriate tests, ratings and characteristics.
