Product Description

The BS EN 4612-012:2019 standard specifies the requirements for electrical cables used in general-purpose aerospace applications. These cables are designed to operate efficiently in a wide range of temperatures, from as low as -65 °C to as high as 150 °C, making them suitable for various aerospace environments. The cables feature a dual extruded wall construction, providing enhanced protection and durability for open applications.

One of the standout features of these cables is their construction using nickel-plated copper, which offers excellent conductivity and resistance to corrosion. This makes them ideal for use in harsh aerospace conditions where reliability is paramount. The cables are available in both jacketed and screened, as well as jacketed configurations, providing flexibility in their application.

Advanced Construction

The dual extruded wall design of these cables ensures superior mechanical strength and protection against environmental factors. The outer jacket provides an additional layer of defense against physical damage, while the screen (braid) offers electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding, ensuring signal integrity in sensitive aerospace systems.

Moreover, the cables are UV laser printable, allowing for easy identification and traceability. This feature is particularly beneficial in complex aerospace systems where accurate cable identification is crucial for maintenance and troubleshooting.

Applications

The BS EN 4612-012:2019 standard is applicable to a wide range of aerospace applications, including:

  • Aircraft electrical systems
  • Avionics and instrumentation
  • Satellite and space exploration equipment
  • Military and defense systems
  • Commercial aviation

These cables are designed to meet the stringent requirements of the aerospace industry, ensuring reliable performance in critical applications. Their robust construction and high-temperature tolerance make them suitable for use in both commercial and military aerospace systems.

Why Choose BS EN 4612-012:2019 Cables?
