Základní úvod k celé řadě norem pro inteligentní dopravní systémy (ITS) je uveden v normě ISO 21217. Tato norma stanoví parametry a postupy pro entitu správy stanice ITS za účelem správy datových toků souvisejících s dostupnými komunikačními zdroji ve stanici ITS a pro mapování datových toků.
