Also excluded is a detailed discussion of protective relaying systems, high-voltage switchyards, and navigation and flood control facilities associated with a hydroelectric power plant. Hydroelectric applications of variable frequency operation and high-voltage generation are not covered in this guide due to the specialized nature of these applications.
