IEEE 1857.12-2022

This standard defines an Internet Protocol (IP)-based media protocol over both broadcasting networks and broadband networks, including data modeling, data transmission methods, signaling messages, and media presentation mechanisms.

The purpose of this standard is to define smart multimedia transport protocols for use in heterogeneous networks (including live streaming, video on demand over broadcast networks, broadband networks, and mobile networks), enabling media to be efficiently and seamlessly transported between entities in the content development and distribution industries.
