DESCRIPTION
IEEE 1871.2-2017
This document provides a recommended practice for using IEEE 16712 compliant test equipment templates for applications employing intrinsic path information for cables, interface adapters, and test equipment for the purpose of documenting and enabling programmatic access to the intrinsic characteristics of path related resources found in automated test systems. The purpose of this recommended practice is to sufficiently describe the electrical properties and other intrinsic path characteristics of hardware components via ATML extensions. Various applications that use ATML schemas expose the need for detailed component information that is more specific to individual hardware instantiations than ATML was intended to describe. This recommended practice has been produced to show best practices in how to extend ATML in order to gain access to more detailed intrinsic path characteristics that applications often require.
New IEEE Standard - Active. This document is a recommended practice to extending the ATML exchange formats to for the purposes describing intrinsic paths. The recommended practice presents an XML schema an ATML instance document, and use cases related to intrinsic path characterizations.
