Guides covering some of the test methods listed are available in the form of IEEE 400 “point” documents. Some methods that are less frequently used or no longer used are identified in the relevant sections.

The purpose of this document is to provide a guide for cable system asset management, which contains an overview of the various test methods available for evaluating the insulation of shielded cable systems in the field.
