It is the purpose of this recommendation to establish a general standard method for use in making high-potential wet tests on insulators, bushings, switches and related apparatus. This specification covers only the requirements for the spray and the correction factors to be applied to test results. The requirements for specimen mounting and the method of voltage application for any particular type of equipment are covered by the respective apparatus standards.
